It seems that there are many, many references for practicing witches out there in terms of rituals, spells, guides, etc. Personally, I have not found many quick “fixes” or “add-ons” to everyday things. What if you’re eating on the go and need an extra boost of confidence? Or you’re getting your kids’ lunches ready, no time for your own breakfast, and have to eat a soon-to-be-expired granola bar?
Food doesn’t have to be fancy to be magical. If there is something natural in what you’re consuming, such as oats or leafy greens, you can still place your energy into it. Hell, even gummy candies could have a magical essence considering real sugar is associated with sweetness, love, and even prosperity.
Here are some examples of Quick Kitchen Magic on the go, or in a bind. Feel free to share if you’ve used any of these, or think of any new ones for the community to consider. More posts later will expand on cooking or creating some of these from scratch.
The Drive-Through Hustle
Salt
Ok, so we don’t need to consume extra salt here to be protected. We would all look like prunes, dehydrated and wrinkly. However, you can stash a couple of extra salt packets in your glove box to have some ready.
- Sprinkle the salt as a protector.
- Feeling ansty in traffic? Is your intuitive alarm going off? There might just be some negative energy around you. Tear open that packet and lightly sprinkle a little bit around your seat. (You can vacuum it up later to remove that stagnant negative energy as well.)
- Car charm.
- If you purchase some small bottle charms (such as these Walmart ones), you could create a charm that hangs in your car. Fill it with salt and string it to your mirror. You could also add some other herbs here, such as rosemary or black pepper as a boost of protection or banishing.
Sauces & Dips
- Read the ingredients! If there is pepper of any variety: cayenne, paprika, etc, you could put the intention of power and confidence in what you’re eating. Pepper is also good for banishing negative energy if you’re up against a busy, potentially rough day.
- Tomato in ketchup could be used for luck, love, and even warding off bad energies. Next time you have a date with some crispy drive-through french fries, imagine love filling up your core while you dip into ketchup. Potatoes are also great for protection and grounding.
- You may want to use this combo to help protect you from heartbreak, ground you in your current relationship, or bring in protection for those you do love.
Lunch Break
Salad Greens
- Leafy vegetables and the color green are associated with luck, money, and prosperity. Spinach, kale, and arugula in your salad? Focus your mind on being prosperous in life. It’s not just about money, though.
- You can be prosperous with opportunities in life if you’re looking for a new job, rich in family adventures, or luck with making new friends. Focus on something you think will make your life more rich and meaningful.
Sandwiches
- Bread, whether gluten free or not, is a symbol of growth. The dough rises, expands, and creates a delicious and hearty food. While taking that first bite of your ham and cheese on rye or Italian Sub, think about your personal growth. Reflect on five years ago compared to now. Think about where you’d like to be in five more years. Allow the possibility of more growth to soak in. We are ever-evolving. We continue to grow and learn every day. Let your mind open to all possibilities.
Snacks
- Granola bars made with oats are typically used in spellwork for beauty, health, and emotional soothing. You could also associate them with grounding and prosperity since they are of the earth and plentiful. Oatmeal or oatmeal cookies also can serve this purpose.
- While eating, imagine your skin glowing and feminine energy healing. Think about one aspect of your body you love the most to heal from any low self-esteem moments.
- Yogurt is typically made with some sort of milk base. You can consider it as a boost for fertility / creation, imagination, spirituality. Yogurt can be sprinkled with cinnamon for success, oats for grounding, or chocolate bits for love and passion. Perhaps you’re an artist looking for some inspiration, or a boutique owner finding ways to better connect with your customers. Imagine new ideas flooding to you in gentle waves.
- Everyone loves a salty, crunchy potato chip here and there. As mentioned, potatoes are a grounding and earthy vegetable. Think about all the different spice variations to feed your intention: Sour cream & onion for protection and energy, barbeque for power and passion, or garlic rosemary for courage and warding.
Teas
- Tea will be written about in this blog from time to time. Teas are blends of herbs warmed in water to extract their flavors and energies. From healing to sexuality, teas have been imbibed for centuries for various reasons. Typically in a rush, you’ll find black tea or green tea brewed are the most used at drive-throughs or restaurants.
- Drink Black Tea for strength, healing, digestive health, and energy.
- Drink Green Tea for detoxing negative energies, focus, and power.
- Drink Peach Tea for feminine energy, love, and sensuality.
Conclusion
There are so many mix and match opportunities when you’re on the go or in a rush. Slow down, read ingredients, and think about what you’re eating. Magical properties are in most things we consume. I’m no nutritionist, but it is beneficial to stray away from foods that have minimal or no natural ingredients. And it’s way more fun thinking about magic during your lunch break, trust me.
